Plus, who will advance out of the Midwest?
Results are in early this week for the fan survey as March Madness truly starts up tomorrow! First, let’s take a look at the national results!

Just shy of a majority of respondents think Purdue will be the team to come out of their quadrant and head to the Sweet 16 in Indianapolis. Clemson is just behind the Boilermakers at 45% with McNeese and High Point dragging far behind.
The Boilers are -7.5 favorites in their game against High Point. This game should be a much different pace than the Clemson and McNeese State Game, as the over/under is set at 153.5. If you take a look at who will win the Midwest Region Purdue is getting very long odds. As of this writing they sit at +1700. That’s the 7th best odds of the 16 teams in the region. Not exactly what you hope for as a Purdue fan.

Now, what did Hammer and Rails readers think about this week’s questions? First, where are you all planning to watch the game.

I was pretty surprised that only 1% of respondents said they would be watching the game in person. I get it though because Rhode Island is a pain to get to. I looked at Southwest flights out of Indianapolis and there was not a single direct flight. Not one. The majority of Purdue fans will just watch this one at home.
Next, what will Purdue’s record be this week? Which is a different way of asking, will they make the Sweet 16?

A clear majority of 55% think Purdue will go 2-0 and make the Sweet 16. That was far more optimistic than I thought you all would be. I read the comments and they haven’t been pretty at times.
So there you have it. Is the crowd wise? Are you the only one that’s right? Let us know in the comments.
