Plus, the fabled sophomore jump.
Another week has come to a close which means we are one week closer to the start of both Purdue football and Purdue basketball. This week we’ve got questions about both programs. I want to start with football this time to make sure that you get all the way to the end of the article because I know you want to see the results of the basketball question.
Purdue football is down bad. There’s no doubt about it. The last two seasons under Walters were abysmal. The AD had no choice but to make a change. It just had to happen. So when Barry Odom came in the door there were plenty of questions that needed answered. Odom has hit the transfer portal hard and so the team you see on the field this season will be almost unrecognizable from the team that was on the field last year. In many ways that’s a good thing, last year’s team was awful, but will it be enough? So, in Odom’s first season I wanted to know how you would measure success.

For 56% of readers success is just about being competitive in year one. I hope that the fans keep this attitude going forward. This season is going to be tough. There’s a lot to turn around with this program.
Now onto basketball. Which of the three rising sophomores listed, sorry to that man Raleigh Burgess, will make the biggest jump?

Most Purdue fans, 49% think it will be Daniel Jacobsen, which is a bit of a skewed result as Jacobsen played in just one game and one minute during the season before he was injured. Let’s hope all three Boilermakers make big jumps, plus of course Raleigh Burgess.
