Do our readers think Purdue can get to 3-0?

Sorry for the delay in getting these results to you. There was a mix-up in the files that needed to be cleared up and I just got them back last night. Regardless, here are the results from last week’s survey questions.

The first thing I wanted to know was if Purdue football could reach a record of 3-0 following the game against USC. I think most fans believe that Purdue will be 2-0 after those first two games so really it comes down to if you think Purdue can take down USC. It will be Purdue’s first real challenge on this season and will be the first test for Barry Odom’s rebuilt Boilermakers.

I was quite shocked to see that 3% of fans think Purdue will be 0-3 after the first three. But then I remembered that this is the internet and so there’s going to be a certain number of trolls out there. Gotta be the answer there. 2-1 was the most popular answer with 67% believing that would be the result. 1-2 was next with 17% before 3-0 with just 13%. Needless to say it would be a huge surprise, and quite the coup, if Purdue can land at 3-0 to start the season and head to Notre Dame.

Next, I wanted to know who would be the MVP of the basketball team in the coming season. There are two obvious candidates in Braden Smith and Trey Kaufman-Renn.

Just like with the previous question, I’m curious what the 5% who said other believe is going to happen next season. However, 87% went with the obvious answer of Braden Smith. A well deserved victory for him here as he’s earned that respect. TKR with only 8% seems a bit undervalued but he tends to fly under the radar so I understand it.
