Plus, has the transfer portal increased your enjoyment of college football?
It’s the end of the week which means that our reader survey results are ready for you. This week we had one question about football and one about basketball. Before we get to those though since it’s NFL Draft week I wanted to share a national result about college football and NFL fandom that I thought was relevant.

I definitely fall into the 44% here. I am a huge Tampa Bay Bucs fan so it was always hard for me to have Drew Brees with the Saints as they share a division so I was always rooting for him to throw 4 TDs, 400 yards, and lose.
Next, I asked how the transfer portal has impacted your enjoyment of college football. I asked about college football specifically because it’s the next big season starting up and also the sheer number of transfers has been overwhelming and makes it nearly impossible to remember who is on the team and who has headed out the door. I think you can get the idea of how I feel about it right now.

61% have less enjoyment because of the transfer portal. This is something that Purdue and the NCAA need to keep an eye on as they continue to tweak the transfer portal and relatedly NIL.
Next, I asked who of the new players added to the 2025-2026 Purdue men’s basketball roster, or coming off a redshirt, would be most impactful.

I was a bit surprised that Oscar Cluff got 77% of the vote here. I understand that he might be the biggest name but I thought maybe the vote would be more split between Cluff, Mayer, and Murphy. Given the response in the comments from this article I think next week I might ask who is going to be more important, Oscar Cluff or Daniel Jacobsen.
