Purdue has lost a guard to the transfer portal.

According to On3, Purdue shooting guard Ethan Morton has entered the portal. He appeared in 37 games, averaging an assist and a little under a point per game.

He came off the bench after starting 29 of 37 games during the 2022-23 season. That season was the best of his career, averaging 3.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

Morton was with Purdue for the last four seasons and will finish his tenure averaging two points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

Before he got to Purdue, he was a four-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class and the second-best player in his home state (Pennsylvania), per 247Sports composite rankings. He was also the No. 103 overall prospect in the country, regardless of position.

Purdue is fresh off a loss in the 2024 National Championship Game against UConn. Purdue was playing with the defending champs for a while but UConn pulled away in the second half.

The Boilermakers will also be losing star center Zach Edey as he’s set to play in the NBA next year.
