The sophomore wing had an up and down season but finished shooting 60% from behind the arc the final eleven games of the season
Purdue Boilermakers wing Camden Heide has entered the portal with an intention to transfer according Paolo Zamorano of Prodigy Sports group that represents Heide. That is a big loss for the Boilers who saw Heide finish the season as one of the hottest shooters in the country shooting 60% (15/25) over the final 11 games of the season. He also grew into one of the program’s better rebounders as he averaged 4 rebounds per game over that same stretch.
A highly athletic wing capable of guarding multiple positions, Heide flashed as a super-athletic player with a massive upside because of his shooting ability. Best known for his highlight reel dunk in last year’s national championship game, Heide grew into a more complete player as a sophomore this year. Heide averaged 4.7 points and 3.6 rebounds while playing an average of 19.6 minutes per game.

With the addition of transfer frontcourt player Oscar Cluff and a return of Daniel Jacobsen from injury, it was likely that Heide would not be able to work his way into the starting lineup and may actually see a potential decrease in minutes. TKR is likely going to see his minutes stay consistent around 30mpg while the addition of Cluff and Jacobsen means most of the minutes will come at the power forward position that Heide has played.
Heide will be a highly valued target for other programs but there is no indication of any schools reaching out for contact at this time. It should be noted that Heide’s family recently moved to Alabama from Minnesota but there is no indication that would be a deciding factor on where he may eventually decide to go.
