The WR from Indianapolis will look to see the field this year.
#84 Nolan Buckman
Wide Receiver
5’11”, 193
Redshirt Sophomore
Indianapolis, Indiana
Previous School: Brebeuf Jesuit Prep
Projection: Depth wide receiver / special teams
One of the holdovers from the Ryan Walters era, Nolan Buckman, will look to play on Rohrman Field in his third season with the Boilermakers. Buckman, a 2023 PWO out of Brebeuf Jesuit Prep in Indianapolis, took the quick trip northwest to become a Boilermaker. A standout quarterback and receiver in high school, Buckman threw for 41 touchdowns and over 3,000 yards his junior season before moving to wide receiver for his senior year.
We don’t know very much else about Buckman as he took a redshirt year in 2023 and did not see the field either of his first two seasons. At 5’11 and 193 lbs, he definitely fits the mold of a slot receiver but his best shot of seeing the field may be to excel as a special teamer and work his way up, as is the case with a lot of college players. There is also the possibility of Nolan being available for some gadget plays considering his history at both wide receiver and quarterback. It may be another slow season for the Indianapolis native, but perhaps he will be able to get his shot.
