A transfer that followed Barry Odom from UNLV, St. John will look to compete for a starting role along the offensive line
We are just 74 days until the kickoff of the 2025 Purdue Football season and that brings us to offensive lineman Jalen St. John. The senior transfer that followed Barry Odom from UNLV to Purdue, St. John has started 23 games over the last two seasons at the all important left tackle position. That’s a position of extreme need as the Boilers’ offensive line the last two seasons was among the worst in the B1G.
Another big O-line addition.

St. John is a former 3 star recruit who was heavily recruited with offers from Missouri, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida State, Illinois, and Mississippi State, among others. Ultimately, he decided on Arkansas and made appearances in 13 games total in his first two seasons as a redshirt freshman and sophomore. He is big bodied offensive tackle at 6’5 and 325 pounds and will likely anchor that left side of the offensive line that may only feature two players in the ten player two-deep that were on Purdue’s roster in 2024 (Ethan Trent & Joey Tanona). He was also on the Outland Award Preseason Watch List and was a 2nd Team All Mountain West performer.
