Another transplant from UNLV.
#44 – Christian Moore
Tight End
6’3”, 245
Senior
Previous School: UNLV
Huntington Beach, California
Projection: Starting TE
I can’t say for sure that Moore will be a starting tight end for the Boilermakers, but he started 11 of 14 games last season for UNLV and his coach thought highly enough of him to bring him along to his new gig so there’s a familiarity and a trust there in what Moore can do that is hard for me to ignore as we prognosticate this season’s lineup.
Moore is more of a blocking tight end as evidenced by last season’s stats where he only had two catches for 28 yards. UNLV however used him as a run blocker for the 7th best rushing attack in FBS. Purdue could use a whole lot of that going into this season. The run game is how you control the clock and Purdue will hope to be able to buy time for their defense by completing sustained drives that eat up some clock and a guy like Moore can be a big help in that regard.
