The non-conference is finalized.
While the basketball season feels like it might’ve just ended, preparations for next season are well underway. The team just keeps making schedule announcements. Last week Purdue announced a road exhibition game against the Kentucky Wildcats. Then, the Big Ten conference released the conference schedules for the season. That just leaves the non-conference season which has been coming out in drips and drabs over the past few weeks. Well, now it’s finished. All the drips and all the drabs are out. If I’m not mistaken that gives Purdue a full 2025-2026 season schedule.

Given that I don’t know how you’re viewing this article, probably on your phone though let’s be honest, I want to make the information from that tweet a little easier to read. So, here is Purdue’s non-conference schedule.
10/24 – Exhibition at Kentucky
10/29 – Exhibition vs. UIndy
11/4 – vs. Evansville
11/7 – vs. Oakland
11/13 – @ Alabama
11/16 – vs. Akron
11/20 – Baha Mar Tournament in the Bahamas
11/21 – Baha Mar Tournament in the Bahamas
11/28 – vs. Eastern Illinois
12/6 – vs. Iowa State
12/13 – vs. Marquette
12/20 vs. Auburn in Indianapolis
12/29 – vs. Kent State
Now, it’s all laid out in front of us. With the exception of the Baha Mar Tournament. All teams for that have not been announced as of this writing but it looks like it’s going to be Purdue, Wake Forest, Memphis, and (rumored) Texas Tech. Will that end up being the four? We don’t know. Important to note though that former Boilermaker Myles Colvin transferred to Wake Forest so that could be one to watch out for in the non-conference.
Obviously games against Alabama, on the road, and home against Iowa State and Marquette, plus a neutral site game against Auburn are the marquee matchups slated for this non-conference season. Most teams get one maybe two marquee matchups in a non-conference season. Not Purdue though, Purdue has four. Purdue is again seeking a number one seed for the NCAA Tournament and history has shown them that the best way to do that is play a tough non-conference and rack up some wins. The opportunities are there to once again ride into March atop one of the regions. Let’s get started.
