2021 Indiana High School Basketball State Tournament: Sectional Championship Scores

March 7, 2021 by Hammer And Rails Leave a Comment

The first round is complete as Regional Saturday is set for next week.

Last year we lost the best day of the year in Indiana: Regional Saturday. It is the grueling test, where the best have to win twice in one day if they want to win a state championship. COVID-19 robbed us of last year and this year crowds will be limited, but they will be back.

Here is who will be there, including all three in-state Purdue commits:

CLASS 4A

Gary West

Gary West 49, Munster 29

Chesterton

Valparaiso 59, Portage 53

Robbie Hummel and Albert Evans had a fun exchange over this one:

Lol has portage ever won the sectional in basketball?

— Robbie Hummel (@RobbieHummel) March 6, 2021

Michigan City

South Bend Riley 47, South Bend Adams 43

Pretty decent upset here, as Adams was 23-1 coming in and had beaten Riley by 23 a few weeks ago.

Elkhart

Elkhart 49, Penn 34

East Noble

Carroll (Fort Wayne) 63, Fort Wayne Snider 53

Columbia City

Homestead 75, New Haven 56

Fletcher Loyer & Co. stay undefeated and move to 25-0 and he joined Biggie in a pretty exclusive club by scoring 17 tonight:

Junior Fletcher Loyer has just become the second Spartan in history to surpass the 600 point mark in one season. (Caleb Swanigan was the other in ’15 with 702 points) pic.twitter.com/50lKlWSJv0

The Dragons had 16 offensive rebounds and shot 48.4% from the field.
