Time to break out the bubble boys
In an unfortunate set of circumstances, we found out that Notre Dame starting offensive lineman Charles Jagusah broke his arm in an UTV accident while vacationing in Wyoming.
Sophomore OL Charles Jagusah was injured in a UTV accident in Wyoming on July 5th. He has undergone surgery to repair a fracture of his left humerus. The initial prognosis is favorable, and he will return to campus early this week for further evaluation and continued care.

This certainly isn’t like blowing an achilles while doing tricks on a pogo stick — but it’s not a fun situation. Jagusah famously had a season-ending injury in fall camp last year, but had a glorious return to the field duriong the college football playoff (in which he played really, really well).
I’m not a doctor, but I highly doubt we see Jagusah’s return to the field before the end of September, but again… I’m not a doctor. Notre Dame does have a number of options moving forward, and we saw how well Joe Rudolph adapted to thge different injury situations last year.
I do want to take a second to remind everyone — you were once a young adult as well. If you feel like slamming Jagusah for “putting himself in harms way” please do it elsewhere. It’s unfortunate, and a blow to how we thought the depth chart would look before the Irish head to Florida to take on the Miami Hurricanes in game one, but these things (in one way or another) happen every year.
It’ll be fine, and we’ll undoubtedly see Charles Jagusah back on the field in 2025. Maybe, however, we need to break out the bubble suits moving forward.
