Sam Hartman is having quite the first game for Notre Dame.
In just the first half against Navy, Hartman completed 14-of-17 passes for 198 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Those numbers helped Notre Dame take a 28-0 lead into halftime.
Even though it’s against Navy, that’s one heck of a debut for the former Wake Forest quarterback.
Hartman transferred to Notre Dame from Wake Forest as a graduate transfer during the offseason. He played at Wake Forest for five seasons and finished the 2022 season completing 63% of his passes for 3,701 yards, 38 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
He led the Demon Deacons to a 7-5 regular season record before they won the Gasparilla Bowl over the Missouri Tigers to finish 8-5 overall.
If he can play at this level for the entire 2023 season, the Fighting Irish will be an extremely tough out.
You can watch the second half on NBC.
