Because chaos is perfection
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish pulled a fantastic class for the 2021 recruiting cycle. The Irish signed 26 players during the early period for National Signing Day, and still have a commitment for one more that most insiders believe will still be Irish in February (talking about Logan Diggs of course).
This December’s signing day was in the middle of an extremely busy week, and I don’t believe we ever offered an OFD version of the recruiting rankings for Notre Dame’s 2021 class — so here we are. No class ever finishes its time at Notre Dame in the same pecking order as the recruiting rankings, so while you may find this list a little odd (maybe) I firmly put my stamp of approval on the final outcome.
I’m not going to breakdown each recruit’s score or why they are scored this way, but if you ask in the comment section, I promise to answer to the best of my ability. I will at least explain the 10 categories of this scoring system for you.
- 247 Composite star ranking 1-5
- A good name 1-5
- Notre Dame’s need 1-10
- Hair greatness 1-5
- A very “ND Position” 1-5
- Are they a resident of the Big 4? GA 4, TX 3, CA 2, FL 1
- Are they an Ohioan? 2
- Are they a Hawaiian? 3
- Freshman Impact 1-5
- Luck of the Irish… a dice roll 1-6
The maximum score any recruit can achieve is 45. Any tie score was dealt with by rolling the dice in a war-like fashion.
Remember… all rankings in the recruiting world are subjective, and this is for fun. So try not to go crazy.
