Notre Dame pitcher Rory Fox had a really good season for the Irish, and we all know about his path from shortstop to the mound — but the kid is pretty smart too.

Fox Garners CSC Academic All-District Honor
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Junior right-handed pitcher Rory Fox has been named as a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree for the 2025 season.
Fox posted 65.1 innings on the mound for the Irish in 2025 with a 3.58 earned run average. An All-ACC Third Team honoree, he struck out 64 batters and limited opposing batters to a .187 batting average. Fox had a complete-game shutout on the bump, was part of a combined shutout, and registered four wins.
Majoring in environmental science, Fox holds better than a 3.9 grade point average. He has been named to the Dean’s List in each semester and has had multiple semesters with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
To be eligible for the All-District Team, student-athletes must be a sophomore and carry a 3.50 cumulative GPA. It is the second consecutive season that Fox has been named to the CSC Academic All-District team.
