COVID still exists
According to Irish Illustrated’s Tim Prister, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have paused winter workouts due to an increase in positive COVID-19 test results.
Sources have told Irish Illustrated that #NotreDame football workouts are on pause due to positive COVID test results. There has been a recent spike in positive tests among the general student body.

Notre Dame was in the beginning stages of their winter workout program with strength and conditioning coordinator Matt Balis as they prepare for spring practices to start at the end of March.
Notre Dame has not yet released any results as to the exact number, and if and when they do, no player names will be provided due to privacy laws.
The Irish welcomed 14 early enrollees to the program this winter with a handful of them primed to help the Irish right away this fall. In addition, quarterback Jack Coan transferred in from the Wisconsin Badgers and is expected to be the front-runner to take over at quarterback this fall.
This pause will likely take about 10 days before the Irish are able to get back in the weight room and training facilities.
