Noon is for tailgating
Notre Dame football home games are on NBC and have been for 34 years. While there have been numerous complaints from the fanbase over the years, what you won’t hear, are complaints that there are too many noon games.
FOX and its Big Noon Kickoff strategy has programs like the Ohio State Buckeyes up in arms over the amount of good quality games that they are forced to play at noon as opposed to those sweet prime time matchups.
That’s not happening with Notre Dame and NBC.
The broadcast schedule for the Irish home slate was just released, and there will be three games played in Prime Time inside Notre Dame Stadium.
Our 2025 home game times are SET ☘️
Mark your calendars

Notre Dame Announces Game Times for 2025 Home Slate, Including Three Primetime Matchups
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Notre Dame Football has announced game times and broadcast information for its 2025 home slate, including three primetime matchups against Texas A&M, USC and Navy.
The Irish will host seven opponents in Notre Dame Stadium in 2025. Six of those contests will be broadcast on NBC (simulstreamed on Peacock), while the Oct. 11 game vs. NC State will be broadcast exclusively on Peacock.
2025 will mark the first time Notre Dame has hosted three night games since 2018.
Notre Dame’s home opener will bring Texas A&M to Notre Dame Stadium on Sept. 13, the fulfillment of a home-and-home series that began to open the 2024 season in College Station, a 23-14 Notre Dame win. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
Notre Dame will remain at home the next week to face rival Purdue at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The last meeting with the Boilermakers occurred in 2024, a 66-7 Irish victory. It will mark the second-consecutive season in which the Irish have faced Purdue in Game 3 of the season to battle for the Shillelagh Trophy. The Irish – Boilermakers series began in 1896 and is the third-most prolific in Notre Dame history with 88 meetings, trailing just Navy (97) and USC (95). Notre Dame holds a 60-26-2 advantage in the series.
On Oct. 4, the Irish will return home for a three-game stint in South Bend, beginning with another first-time opponent, Boise State. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Dating back to the 2013 season, the Irish are 6-1 in first-time meetings with opponents in Notre Dame Stadium,
The Irish will face NC State in Notre Dame Stadium on Oct. 11 at 3:30 p.m., broadcast exclusively on Peacock. It marks the fifth Notre Dame game that will be streamed exclusively on Peacock. The Irish are 4-0 when playing exclusively on Peacock.
Notre Dame will then host USC in the annual Jeweled Shillelagh rivalry game, this season occurring on Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The matchup will mark the 96th meeting between Notre Dame and USC. The Irish are 7-2 over the Trojans in the last nine meetings.
On Nov. 8, Notre Dame will come back home for the annual matchup with Navy. This installment of the famed rivalry, in which each team owns half of the Rip Miller Trophy, will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC. It will mark the first time Notre Dame and Navy have met in a night game at Notre Dame Stadium.
The 2025 Notre Dame home slate will conclude with a 3:30 p.m. matchup vs. Syracuse on Senior Day, broadcast on NBC.

A few quick thoughts here…
Even though I generally dislike the annual game against Navy, I find that the sudden elevation to this as a night game as somewhat appealing. It’s a boring matchup, but at least the night game atmosphere has the chance to provide something entertaining.
Notre Dame VS the Texas A&M Aggies should be one of the premiere matchups that week, and it bookends the prime time clash the two had last season.
Notre Dame fans are worried that Lincoln Riley will eventually get his way and have the USC Trojans cowardly back out of the annual Battle for the Jeweled Shillelagh. Highlighting this rivalry’s importance to the nation in prime time is a solid way to continue to shame Riley as a full blown coward.
I find that the Peacock app is delightful, and I don’t care which game was going to be on it this season. As luck would have it, Dave Doeren and the NC State Wolfpack are the selection. Sounds fun.
No GREEN OUT game was mentioned, but I doubt it will be any game other than the Southern Cal game.
Well done.
