NBC made a mistake in their pregame broadcast of the big Notre Dame-Ohio State game in South Bend today.
The Fighting Irish invited two favorite sons of the city of South Bend for the pregame festivities: Hall of Fame running back and former Notre Dame star Jerome Bettis, and South Bend-native and former Breaking Bad star Dean Norris.
But when both men were introduced to the crowd, NBC’s cameras accidentally zoomed in on Bettis while they were introducing Norris. Fortunately the camera operators were able to correct the error eventually, but not before the NBC pregame crew got a good laugh in at the cameraperson’s expense.
As you might imagine, fans on X were more than willing to take NBC to task even harder after the embarrassing gaffe:
Probably the only time in his life that someone thought Jerome Bettis was Dean Norris. pic.twitter.com/bmO7WHA160

“Sounds like somebody missed rehearsal,” one user wrote, adding a laughing emoji.
“As far as I’m concerned, they’re both Dean Norrises,” another declared.
“CUT TO DEAN! CUT TO DEAN!” wrote a third, trying to imagine what was said behind the scenes.
At least they got it right in the end.
The game is being played on NBC.
