Mike Golic stands in front of a billboard.

After over 20 years at ESPN, former Mike & Mike host Mike Golic has a new home: Pro Football Talk with Mike Florio on NBC Sports.

NBC Sports announced on Friday that the longtime sports media personality will be joining their NFL coverage on Mondays for the duration of the 2021 season. The role will see him discuss Sunday’s games as well as key news reports from the week that passed.

Florio himself was almost giddy with excitement that he’s working with Golic. In a statement, Florio joked: “I could be wrong, but I think it’s the first time in broadcasting history that a morning show that focuses on sports will be hosted by two guys named Mike.”

News of the move is quickly going viral. Just about everyone is happy that Golic going to be back on the airwaves:

Ex-ESPNer Mike Golic Sr. is joining Mike Florio’s @ProFootballTalk.

Duo will analyze weekend games + other news on football Mondays starting 09/13. Pro Football Talk streams live on Peacock weekdays at 7 am ET; re-airs at 9 am on NBCSN.

Great get for PFT. Congrats to @golic.

Mike Golic joined ESPN in the late-90s after pursuing broadcasting during his nine-year NFL career. His most notable run came as the cohost of Mike & Mike with Mike Greenberg from 2000 to 2017.

After Mike & Mike ended in 2017, Golic spent three more years working with Trey Wingo on Golic & Wingo. That show ended in 2020, after which Golic worked for ESPN as an analyst before his contract expired.

It’s been a while since we got to see Golic talking about football. But starting this month, that drought is coming to an end.

Will you be watching Mike Golic’s new show?
