Look: Notre Dame Quarterback Has Gross Finger Injury

Just under a week ago, Florida State gave Notre Dame everything it could handle in the season-opener for both teams.

The Seminoles took the Fighting Irish to overtime and nearly pulled off the upset. Brian Kelly’s team found a way to win and looked to rebound with a strong performance against Toledo.

Well, that didn’t happen. In fact, Toledo actually took a late lead over Notre Dame in the fourth quarter and looked to be en route to pulling off a massive upset. The Rockets scored a touchdown with just over a minute left on the clock.

That gave Toledo a 29-24 lead over Notre Dame with not very much time remaining. On the ensuring possession, Notre Dame quarterback Jack Coan drove the Irish right down the field for a touchdown in just 26 seconds.

It didn’t come without a tough moment for Coan himself. He dislocated a finger on his throwing hand, ran over to the sideline, had it reset and then threw a touchdown pass.

Ouch!

Coan is tough for being able to get his finger reset and then throw a touchdown pass. However, the true hero in this scenario is the trainer who reset Coan’s finger in record time so he wouldn’t have to miss a snap.

As a result of his hard work, Notre Dame walked out with a 32-29 win and avoided an upset.
