NBC broadcasters Jac Collinsworth and Jason Garrett were never meant to be Al Michaels and John Madden, but fans are pretty frustrated with what the pair has brought to the table in this USC-Notre Dame game.
Today’s game on NBC is one of the most watched of the season and fans are quickly discovering that Collinsworth and Garrett really aren’t their cup of tea. The most frequent complaint people have made about the pair is their complete lack of emotion when talking about anything.
And they’re not exactly selling us on their football knowledge either. Garrett stunned everyone by calling Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman the best thrower of the deep ball in college football.
The complaints are mounting and just about everyone is calling out NBC for not giving them a better broadcast booth for one of the biggest games of the year:
I’ve never heard a more naturally emotionless broadcast pair than Jac Collinsworth and Jason Garrett

My ears are bleeding listening to Jac Collinsworth and Jason Garrett on the Notre Dame-USC call.
A game of this magnitude deserves so much better.

Jac Collinsworth and Jason Garrett have to be the worst booth in the history of college football.

Jac Collinsworth and Jason Garrett could not have been a worse combo to call this USC vs ND game. Holy fuck, NBC. What is this garbage product?

Jac Collinsworth and Jason Garrett are hardly the first broadcast duo to be criticized like this. But for a network like NBC that is trying extremely hard to be a bigger player in the football space, you’d think they would want to get a pair in the booth that fans adore.
Are Collinsworth and Garrett the worst duo in sports broadcasting?
