Former Notre Dame Star Would Root For Deion Sanders To Beat Fighting Irish

Deion Sanders has turned Colorado into arguably the hottest college football program in the country.

In the process, he’s made fans all over, including Chicago Bears wide receiver and former Notre Dame star Equanimeous St. Brown. On the podcast he hosts with his brother Amon-Ra of the Detroit Lions, St. Brown admitted this week that he would actually root for Sanders and the Buffaloes over his alma mater.

“I love him. I want him to win everything. If they played Notre Dame, I’d root for Colorado,” St. Brown said.

Amon-Ra was stunned by this disclosure, but Equanimeous went on to explain his reasoning.

“There’s so many haters hating on Coach Prime and what he’s doing there. The fact he beat TCU and now he beat Nebraska…I want him to win everything, just based off how many doubters,” he said. “I’ve never seen so much hate based off a head coach going somewhere than he has.”

How popular is Deion Sanders?#Bears WR Equanimeous St. Brown said he would root for Colorado to defeat his alma mater, Notre Dame, if they were to play each other.

Equanimeous also said that as the traditionally stronger program, Notre Dame could handle “one L” if it played Colorado head-to-head.

To get himself at least somewhat back on the good graces of Irish fans, he did add that he “can’t wait” until the Buffaloes beat USC, Notre Dame’s arch rival and Amon-Ra’s alma mater, at the end of the month.

Ranked 18th in the AP poll, Colorado will take on in-state rival Colorado State this Saturday night.
