Former Notre Dame football player, Clint Johnson, and the Athletes For Care (A4C) foundation golf tour will be at the Bolingbrook Golf Club on Thursday, August 19th, 2021.

Athletes for CARE is excited to host a charity golf experience unlike any other. Join us for the 2021 A4C Tour presented by Chronic benefiting Athletes for CARE’s mission to improve global standards of health, safety and quality of life for athletes of all ages. Just an hour outside of Chicago in the picturesque village of Bolingbrook, the 18-hole championship golf course at Bolingbrook Golf Club offers golfers the chance to come test their hand at a beautiful design by Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest.

What does the Athletes For Care foundation do, you ask?

Founded by former professional athletes, A4C is uniting athletes as one voice to advocate for research, education, and compassion when addressing important health issues. We are the only non-profit organization empowering legendary athletes from every sport to use their influence to improve global standards of health, safety and quality of life for athletes of all ages.

Athletes for Care is a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3), which is led by a community of athletes finding support, opportunity and purpose in life after a career in sports.

As an organization founded by athletes to drive real change for the health and safety of athletes, our athletes are the core of our team. What started as a team of 12 has now grown to more than 250 strong. Our athletes represent the highest levels of more than 30 sports in at least eight countries around the world.

Our Athlete Ambassadors athletic careers include the top collegiate programs, professional competition, national teams, Paralympic teams and Olympic teams. Passionate about our mission, our Athlete Ambassadors help us amplify our education and advocacy efforts through their influence on their fans, leagues, teammates and athletic programs. Together, we are bringing awareness and fighting the stigma of physical and mental health issues.

Research & Innovation

Athletes for CARE partners with leading research teams to find better solutions to physical, mental and emotional issues athletes face during and after a career in sports. By understanding these issues better, we can improve the experience for the over 2 billion of all ages worldwide who compete annually in sanctioned sports. Many of these issues also impact billions of non-athletes worldwide, such as TBIs, depression, anxiety, long term pain management and PTSD.

Mental Health Resources

Many of the mental health challenges facing current and former professional athletes today are struggles shared by billions of people around the world. Athletes for CARE is dedicated to raising awareness about these important issues and providing supportive solutions that lead to a better quality of life.

While the sports market is growing every year, the skyrocketing industry is leaving a trail of walking wounded in its wake. Athletes who have dedicated their lives and their bodies to entertain us and build an industry are left with serious challenges, such as:

Postromantic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Anxiety

Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI)
Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE)

COVID has proved an additional mental health challenge to many across the globe during this unprecedented time. This is unchartered territory for our athlete community, and individuals everywhere who are faced with increased isolation, a job loss or change, additional pressures with managing families and jobs from home, amongst other challenges.

Our athlete community is here to support each other, and anyone who is looking for meaningful support, connections and tools during this unforeseen time in the world.

Last year I was able to attend the golf tournament and it was for sure the highlight of my year. This year they are adding a networking event the night before the tournament, too, so stay tuned for more information.
