College GameDay is in South Bend, Indiana this week for the big Notre Dame-Ohio State game and ESPN has assembled an all-star guest list for the occasion.
Among the guests set to appear on the set tomorrow are Hall of Fame wide receiver and Notre Dame legend Tim Brown, Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze and Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman. As for their guest picker, they brought in someone who didn’t attend Notre Dame but has a tie to the school.
ESPN PR announced today that actor Vince Vaughn will be the special guest picker for the big game. While Vaughn has no personal ties to either Notre Dame or Ohio State, he got his big break on the big screen as the antagonist Jamie O’Hara in the movie Rudy.
With the film celebrating its 30-year anniversary this week (and star Sean Astin presumably not available), Vaughn makes sense as a pick for the film.
Fans remembered Vaughn’s role in the film and still can’t get over how different he looks now versus 30 years ago:
Can believe they are bringing Jamie O’Hara to be the guest picker. He could have been an all-american if he had a tenth of the heart of Ruettiger. https://t.co/MZGLhO7v68

Vince Vaughn has appeared in dozens of comedy movies and television shows, with one of his most iconic roles being 2005’s Wedding Crashers with Owen Wilson.
Vaughn’s lines in that cult classic are still used by media members everywhere to this day.
