Golden be thy fame
On Sunday, 4-Star cornerback Dallas Golden gave his commitment to play for Marcus Freeman and be part of the 2025 Notre Dame Fighting Irish recruiting class.
BREAKING: #NotreDame lands a massive commitment from Top 100 cornerback Dallas Golden.

The 6’0” 175 pounder from Berkley Prep in Tampa Bay, Florida, chose the Irish over an elite offer list that included the Michigan Wolverines, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers, and just about any top program you can think of from all over the country.
Dynamic, two-way utility man at the prep level that most view as a defensive back at the next level. Likely to provide offer some position flexibility as he has experience lining up at both cornerback and safety. Instinctive in coverage and can mirror with a fluid lower half, but might not have the length for sustained work out on the perimeter. Tracks the football well from a deep posting and flashes immense range. Has a knack for producing acrobatic takeaways and can play through hands. Will lower his shoulder and take a shot if a running back slips through the line, but is more of a finesse defender at this stage that will need to improve his tackling technique in the coming years. Must also add mass to a slender build. Should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter in the secondary with his explosive movement patterns and natural ball skills. Could always get a look somewhere on offense with his production: back-to-back 1,400-yard rushing seasons for one of Tampa’s top private programs.
An extremely fluid athlete with great speed, Golden is a ball player who is talented enough to play on either side of the ball in college. It wouldn’t be all that surprising to see him ultimately end up at receiver.
Coaches are always going to value his traits on defense first, though. It’s very similar to former Notre Dame CB KeiVarae Russell, who was recruited to play offense, but his tools and the depth chart led him to playing corner.
Golden is Notre Dame’s 20th commitment for the 2025 class and the fourth from the state of Florida. Golden is one of two Irish commits from Florida that ranks inside the top 15 in the state — which is fantastic (Ivan Taylor is #4 and Dallas Golden is #13).
It’s not an overstatement to say that regardless of where Notre Dame’s class ranking ultimately lands (right now it’s #1) the group of players they have committed not only fill very specific needs, but are the type of players to help put the Irish in place to advance in the college football playoffs.
Golden is the type of recruit we all drool over in the spring and think Notre Dame has a shot with… but then disappears underneath a pile of offers and opportunity elsewhere. If you allow me to go all President Obama on this… we got him.
And yes… if your name is “Golden” there’s destiny running in that blood and it belongs in South Bend. Just saying.
WELCOME TO ND DALLAS!
