Former Notre Dame quarterback and current college football analyst Brady Quinn took serious issue with Ryan Day’s epic postgame rant after Day’s Ohio State Buckeyes beat his beloved Fighting Irish.
Appearing on Fox Sports Radio, Quinn admonished Day for going after Notre Dame legend Lou Holtz in his fiery postgame rant. He compared it to going to a bar to beat up an 86-year-old man.
But that speech from Day wasn’t unwarranted. Holtz had called out Day and his teams by name earlier in the week. That’s a point that even some of Ohio State’s biggest haters pointed out to him.
Fans have been ripping Quinn for being a crybaby over the issue:
Brady is an idiot.
Saying it’s made for tv is so dumb. When you say things you should be held accountable. You can’t just say whatever.
And if his age is such a big deal shouldn’t he be at home and not doing tv?
Get over yourself Brady. https://t.co/XcmuQ0QkaR— Travis Rockhold (@TravisRockhold) September 25, 2023
Day shows fire: bizarre? Lou holtz went out a said something, made a prediction that didn’t come to fruition. He deserves some blowback. This happens every day to people who made bold predictions and are wrong. I don’t see the issue here https://t.co/KbzJLbQLGp

It’s like Brady Quinn is from ND and can’t be objective. https://t.co/BT0pzfBwRm

Even Lavar Harrington a Penn State grad gets it. And notice how they both agreed everybody wants OSU to lose every week 🤣 but Quinn doesn’t get why Day would respond ? https://t.co/PsE6b4WcVW

People always say that you shouldn’t give if you can’t take.
Lou Holtz talked some serious smack about Ohio State while he was on the Pat McAfee Show. So it’s only fair that Ryan Day be allowed to return the favor once his team emerged victorious.
Brady Quinn doesn’t need to defend Lou Holtz here. Holtz probably doesn’t even particularly care about what Day said nearly as much as the outcome of the game.
That’s the part that Quinn should be more concerned about.
