The Notre Dame Fighting Irish had the privilege of being in the first FBS college football game of the season as they took on Navy in Ireland. Thus far, they’re not only impressing, they’re outright fantastic.
The Fighting Irish have given Navy no quarter at Aviva Stadium today. They scored touchdowns on each of their first three drives and held the Midshipmen under 100 yards in the first half.
Perhaps the most impressive performance of the day though has come from Notre Dame’s new quarterback Sam Hartman. The former Wake Forest starter is playing his first game for the Fighting Irish and has four touchdown passes with only four incompletions.
Needless to say, fans had a lot to say about Notre Dame’s blowout win:
The University of Notre Dame came across the sea to put on a show in Ireland. Show Navy what Fighting Irish means! Go Irish! ☘️

Notre Dame entered the season ranked No. 13 in the nation and have a pretty tough slate of games coming up.
They play Tennessee State next week in what will likely be a laugher but then play nine of their final 10 games against Power Five schools, including Ohio State, USC and Clemson.
A performance like this may not move the needle too much, but it’ll ensure that Notre Dame is a team to watch all the way up to their game against the Buckeyes at the end of September.
Notre Dame lead the game 42-0. The game is being played on NBC.
Did this game cement Notre Dame as a title contender?
