Collins finished nine yards behind Tyler Brown atop Clemson’s leaderboard with 510 receiving yards in 2023. He produced the Tigers’ longest passing play of the season when scoring a 69-yard touchdown from Cade Klunik in a Week 2 blowout win over Charleston Southern.

The 6-foot-3 junior tallied five catches for 65 yards and a touchdown in a Nov. 11 victory over Georgia Tech. That was the last full game he’d play for Clemson, as Collins suffered a torn plantar fascia the following week. He missed the Tigers’ season-ending win over South Carolina.

Per On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Collins explained why he chose to play for Marcus Freeman’s Fighting Irish in his final year of eligibility.

“There’s no other program with the exposure and respect they have week in and week out,” Collins said of Notre Dame. “What also stood out to me was Coach Free and the respect that he already has throughout the program from the top down. Joining up with other ballers on the offense is going to be a sight to see in the near future.”

Notre Dame went 9-3 without a single 500-yard receiver. The prestigious program also landed another playmaking wideout in Kris Mithcell, who’s transferring from Florida International after recording 1,118 yards and seven touchdowns this season.

Freeman must replace senior quarterback Sam Hartman. Duke’s Riley Leonard has emerged as a specualated target from the transfer portal.
