Early week predictions with the poll and pipes
Welcome to another Bagpipe Monday on One Foot Down! Friends, we have finally arrived at THE game of the season. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish welcome the Clemson Tigers to South Bend for what will be the biggest game since the famous “Bush Push” game in 2005 against the USC Trojans.
Before Trevor Lawrence unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19, there were plenty of similarities between this game and that 2005 showdown against the boys of Troy. Now, however, the insertion of D.J. Uiagalelei has made this a new thing entirely.
The circumstances of the 2020 season has also made this matchup quite different, and in some ways, it has been cheapened somewhat. Notre Dame has joined the ACC for this one season and the schedule that we THOUGHT was going to be in place for a solid run at the playoffs was blown up by a much easier schedule in conference play. Regardless of the outcome, both teams stand a fantastic shot of meeting again in the ACC Championship Game.
It’s just plain weird man.
But we will get into plenty more of all of that, and this game in particular, throughout the week. Right now I’m looking for predictions from everyone. Those Monday feels. This isn’t a “can they?” question, it’s a “will they?” question.
Will Notre Dame beat Clemson on Saturday?
The weekly pipes should remind you that Daelin Hayes is a Big Poppa.
