Try as they might
One of my favorite college football stats is the one that shows the record between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Washington Huskies. The Irish are 8-0 all-time against the Huskies, and there’s no reason to think that zero will change to a one anytime soon.

The series began in 1948 in South Bend and then it went out to Seattle in 1949. What happened in 1949 is possibly why it took 46 years before the two programs to play again, and it’s one of my favorite stories from that era — perfectly told by Jayson Jenks.
The secret, passive-aggressive war of words between Washington and Notre Dame, a hilarious football time capsule: https://t.co/dCAjZed8uW

Anytime we can get a story about Moose Krause and Frank Leahy… I’m ready to listen.
So… now we get into the modern era stretch between the two teams, and they play six times in 14 years. Obviously the Irish won all six.
1995 — Notre Dame 29, Washington 21
1996 — Notre Dame 54, Washington 20
2004 — Notre Dame 38, Washington 3
2005 — Notre Dame 36, Washington 17
2008 — Notre Dame 33, Washington 7
2009 — Notre Dame 37, Washington 30
And that’s all I really wanted to say. Washington has never beat Notre Dame, and probably never will. I really love that stat.
