Solongo, a 4-Star prospect, chose the Irish over a healthy offer list that included the Ohio State Buckeyes, Indiana Hoosiers, Butler Bulldogs and more. The 7’0” 270 pounder lives with the Sanderson family and will be playing ball with recent Irish commitment, Jonathan Sanderson, at La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana, during his senior year. The Elder Sanderson was recently hire by Notre Dame to be the new Director of Men’s Basketball Strength and Conditioning.
I honestly don’t know a lot about Solongo and he is very new to the game — which means he is very raw on the court. Still… there’s something about a 7 footer that will always have basketball fans excited. He is believed to be the tallest Mongolian alive… and I think that’s pretty badass.
