You can never have too many quarterbacks on your roster, and if any NFL team knows that it’s the San Francisco 49ers.
According to KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson, the Niners are working out former Notre Dame quarterback Jack Coan who most recently played for the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL.

Coan played the first three years of his college career at Wisconsin before transferring to the Fighting Irish and throwing for 3,150 yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2021.
He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Colts last season but was waived prior to the preseason and later picked up by the Brahmas in November.
In seven starts in San Antonio, Coan completed 62% of his passes for 1,471 yards and a 1:1 TD/INT ratio.
The 49ers currently have Brock Purdy, Trey Lance, Sam Darnold and Brandon Allen on their roster.
