The 6’2” 170 pounder will play his final year of high school basketball at La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana — the same school the Irish just got 5-Star Jalen Haralson in the 2025 class.
Sanderson’s father played college basketball in the late 90’s for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and about a month ago, he was hired by Notre Dame to be the new Director of Men’s Basketball Strength and Conditioning.
Notre Dame has hired former Ohio State player (1997-1999) Jon Sanderson as Director of Men’s Basketball Strength and Conditioning.

Sanderson the younger didn’t just choose the Irish over the Buckeyes, he held a very impressive offer list that also included the Michigan State Spartans, Purdue Boilermakers, Indiana Hoosiers, and others.
He is the first commitment for Notre Dame’s 2026 class, and his lone commitment already has the irish ranked #7 overall in the 247 Team Composite Rankings.
