The Hoosiers get a head start on the transfer portal with the hiring of DeVries.
With the hiring of Darian DeVries as Indiana’s new head men’s basketball coach now official, the program’s focus now turns to the transfer portal.
Members of the current roster will have a chance to enter the portal themselves, as Gabe Cupps already has. Some may elect to stay on and be a part of DeVries’ first roster in Bloomington.
The transfer portal officially opens on March 24. With DeVries set to be introduced as the program’s head coach on Wednesday, he has a solid amount of lead time to keep tabs on potential portal prospects and speak with members of the current roster to inquire about keeping them on the team.
DeVries’ son Tucker, one of the top players in the country when healthy, is expected to transfer from West Virginia to join his father in Bloomington.
We will have updates on the transfer portal when announcements begin to roll in.
