The former Hoosier lineman was selected 113th overall in the NFL Draft.
Former Indiana defensive lineman CJ West is heading out west after getting selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the 113th overall pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon. He’s the first Hoosier to be selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
West, who joined the program during last year’s Spring portal cycle after spending four seasons at Kent State, had 42 total tackles and two sacks with the Hoosiers in 2024. He was a major disruptor in the middle of the defensive line, anchoring that unit.
He spent the draft with friends and family, receiving the call from the 49ers’ front office and coaching staff before celebration broke out:

West joins an organization that’s become known for success on the defensive line, the kind that’s not only gotten the 49ers into the playoffs but has led to deep runs all the way to the Super Bowl.
