Troy Aikman Took Shot At Big Ten Program During Monday Night Football

It’s becoming increasingly clear that ESPN’s Troy Aikman has a very low opinion of the Indiana Hoosiers football program. One joke is playful. Two jokes is evidence.

During yesterday’s Monday Night Football game between the New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks, Aikman took a (second) shot at Indiana’s football team.

After former Hoosier Micah McFadden made a tackle, Joe Buck mentioned that he was drafted out of Indiana. Aikman couldn’t help but take a jab at the struggling football program.

“They’re still playing football? Relax, Hoosiers fans,” Aikman joked.

It’s the second time that Troy Aikman has made that kind of joke about Indiana before. Last year – nearly a year ago to the day – Aikman had a similar shot at former Hoosier Peyton Hendershot.

During a game last year, Joe Buck said that Hendershot was “Making the Indiana Hoosiers football program proud” after a big play for the Cowboys. Aikman then crushed the program by responding, “It doesn’t take much does it? That’s not fair, I’m sorry.”

Aikman apologized then but doesn’t seem to think he needs to anymore.

Indiana football is at a bit of a crossroads now. They’re 2-3 and are off to an 0-2 start in Big Ten play this season. If they have another season with five or fewer losses there could be serious changes coming to Bloomington.
