Seven Hoosiers have been named to the Associated Press All-Big Ten team, while Indiana’s Tom Allen was named the AP’s Big Ten coach of the year.
Ty Fryfogle, who was previously named the Big Ten’s receiver of the year, was IU’s lone representative on the first-team offense. Purdue’s David Bell was the other first-team receiver.
On the defense, though, IU had three first-team honorees, including linebacker Micah McFadden, defensive tackle Jerome Johnson, and safety Jamar Johnson.
On the second team, IU placed quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and running back Stevie Scott on the offense. Cornerback Tiawan Mullen was on the second-team defense.
The AP honor was yet another coach of the year award for Allen, who was already named the Big Ten’s coach of the year via the conference’s coach and media panels.
Allen is also a finalist for the Eddie Robinson and Paul “Bear” Bryant national coach of the year awards.
