SB Nation Reacts: Duke picked to win 2025 men’s college basketball national championship

SB Nation readers picked the Blue Devils to cut down the nets in San Antonio.

It just feels like that kind of year.

Duke, led by sensational freshman and likely No. 1 NBA Draft pick Cooper Flagg, has torn through college basketball this season en route to a 1-seed off of a 35-3 record with just a single loss in conference play.

The Blue Devils aren’t the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed, but sit atop KenPom’s efficiency rankings heading into the Final Four this weekend. Houston, Florida and Auburn are right behind them.

SB Nation readers pretty overwhelmingly picked Duke to cut down the nets on Monday, winning a majority of the vote.

Efficiency ratings and reader opinion aren’t the only factors pointing toward a Duke national championship either. The Blue Devils are currently -115 to win the national title, trailed by Florida at +310, Houston at +430 and Auburn at +550, per FanDuel.

This would be Jon Scheyer’s first national championship at Duke, the Blue Devils’ sixth overall and a departure from portal-dominant teams given the Blue Devils’ reliance on talented freshmen.
