Indiana men’s basketball added its 11th scholarship player with a commitment from North Florida transfer Josh Harris. He visited Indiana last week and played last season alongside fellow Indiana commit Jasai Miles.
NEWS: North Florida transfer big man Josh Harris has committed to Indiana, he told @On3sports.
The 6-9, 230-pound freshman averaged 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this year. Scored 22 points against Georgia Tech earlier this season. https://t.co/1CEes9WaC9 pic.twitter.com/fzrZfr0LcV

As a true freshman at North Florida, Harris was the Ospreys’ second leading scorer, trailing only Miles. He started all 30 games he appeared in, averaging 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest.
While some outlets list him at 6’9”, he would be the tied as the second tallest player on Indiana’s current roster even at 6’8”, matching Florida transfer Sam Alexis. He really shines on the offensive glass posting a 13% offensive rebounding rate last year, good for 72nd nationally.
Harris has three years of eligibility remaining and there’s good reason to think he could make big strides as his career progresses. He averaged just 22.5 minutes per game, making his offensive and rebounding stats even more impressive.
Whether he starts next season or not, this is a nice pickup for Darian DeVries. He fits the mold of how this team has been built and has a few years of eligibility left to build on a solid freshman season in the Atlantic Sun.
