Indiana’s Trayce Jackson-Davis has been added to the Naismith Trophy Watch List.
Jackson-Davis, the sophomore forward, was one of 50 people added to the list. The 6-foot-9 Greenwood native has already been named to the Karl Malone Award watch list for the top power forward in college basketball.
Jackson-Davis was a third-team All-Big Ten selection last season after leading the Hoosiers in multiple categories, including scoring, rebounding, free throw percentage and blocks. He was second in the Big Ten in field goal percentage (56.6), and seventh in blocked shots (1.9) and rebounds (8.4).
A midseason list of 30 players will be released in early February, followed by lists of 10 national semifinalists and four finalists on March 4 and March 16, respectively. The winner will be honored during the Final Four at the Naismith Awards Brunch on April 4.
IU’s Scott May (1976) and Calbert Cheaney (1993) are former winners of the award. Victor Oladipo was a finalist in 2013.
