Indiana sophomore forward Trayce Jackson-Davis picked up another honor Thursday as he was added to the Naismith Trophy’s midseason team.
The list of 30 players included eight players from the Big Ten, including Minnesota’s Marcus Carr, Illinois’ Kofi Cockburn and Ayo Dosunmu, Michigan’s Hunter Dickinson, Iowa’s Luka Garza, Ohio State’s E.J. Liddell, and Purdue’s Trevion Williams.
A little over a week ago, it was announced Jackson-Davis was one of 20 players on the Wooden Award’s late-season watch list, which is another national player of the year award. The 6-foot-9 native of Greenwood is also in the running for the Malone Award, given to the nation’s top power forward.
Jackson-Davis leads the Hoosiers in points (19.4), rebounds (9.4), and blocks (1.7) per game, as well as field goal percentage (52). In all of those categories, Jackson-Davis ranks in the top four in the Big Ten conference. He is also second in the Big Ten in minutes played, with 34.4 per outing. The other true post player in the top 15 is Garza, who ranks 15th at 30.9 per contest.
