Indiana hosts Idaho in its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 11

After falling to then-No. 18 Iowa 34-6 in its season opener, Indiana (0-1) will host FCS opponent Idaho (1-0) in the Hoosiers’ home opener on Saturday, Sept. 11.

Here’s everything you need to know about the matchup.

Kickoff time, TV channel, how to watch

The game will air on BTN, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. The BTN crew on the call includes Mark Followill (play-by-play), Matt Millen (analyst) and Elise Menaker (sideline).

You can listen to the radio broadcast on the IU Radio Network, Sirius 108, XM 202 or SiriusXM App 965.

Pregame spread

Indiana is a 32.5-point favorite over Idaho, according to DraftKings, as of Thursday.

Series history

This season’s matchup will be the first-ever meeting between Indiana and Idaho. The Vandals defeated Simon Fraser 68-0 in Week 1. Idaho went 2-4 during the spring FCS season, beating Eastern Washington and Southern Utah.

In its last game against a Big Ten opponent, Idaho lost its 2019 season opener at Penn State 79-7, but the Vandals played Wyoming, another FBS opponent, close two weeks later, falling 21-16.

Idaho’s last season in the FBS was in 2017, when the Vandals went 4-8, beating then-Sun Belt foes South Alabama, UL Monroe and Georgia State.

Indiana’s return to Memorial Stadium

The Hoosiers went 3-0 at Memorial Stadium last season, including their thrilling 36-35 overtime upset of No. 7 Penn State, and they’re 7-2 at home over the last two seasons with the two losses coming against No. 6 Ohio State and No. 13 Michigan in 2019.

All-time, Indiana is 43-18 in its Memorial Stadium openers, with wins in 17 of its last 19, according to Indiana’s pregame notes.

AP Top 25 poll

After losing on the road to Iowa, Indiana dropped out of the AP Top 25 after debuting at No. 17. The Hoosiers were eighth among “others receiving votes” in the latest AP poll, putting them 33rd nationally.
