Indiana is looking to build the program through the high school ranks.
Earlier this week we polled Hoosier fans on their feelings toward Indiana football’s recruiting efforts in the class of 2026.
Curt Cignetti said he wanted to build the program through high school recruiting when he was hired, using the portal out of necessity rather than using it as the primary roster-building tool. He’s kept his word on that, hitting the 2026 class early and locking up a solid amount of commitments during the early summer recruiting period.
Fans who responded indicated that they were optimistic with the direction that class is heading in:

Cignetti was rather blunt when describing his feelings toward the roster situation he inherited, likening it to a crisis. He made the moves he felt necessary in year one to both build the program for the future and win immediately, with the latter goal being a tremendous success.
FanDuel Sportsbook currently has the Hoosiers at -1600 to win six or more games in 2025, which is to be expected after a breakout 2024 and ensuing transfer portal movement.
