Darian DeVries’ new staff is already hitting the recruiting trail.
Indiana men’s basketball’s 2025-26 roster is just about built, but Darian DeVries’ staff is already working the recruiting trail to build for the program’s future.
Ethan Taylor, a 4-star center in the class of 2026 out of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in Shawnee, Kansas, announced on Thursday that he’d received an offer from the program after a conversation with assistant coach Rod Clark:
After a great conversation with coach Rod Clark I am extremely blessed to receive an offer from the University of Indiana!! #AGTG pic.twitter.com/OB07cIgzrk

Taylor is the 49th highest-rated prospect overall and the fifth highest-rated center in the class of 2026, per the 247Sports composite ranking. His other offers include Missouri, Oklahoma, Purdue and Tennessee, where Clark previously coached before taking a job on DeVries’ staff.
It seems there’s a pre-existing relationship with Clark from the latter’s time with the Volunteers and he was able to sell the rest of the staff, including DeVries, on recruiting Taylor.
Indiana will have plenty of minutes to compete for in the frontcourt after Reed Bailey and Sam Alexis depart and you can’t have too much depth at the five.
