Tucker came to Indiana as a highly-touted recruit, making the McDonald’s All-American game as a senior, four star prospect. He was originally expected to go to Overtime Elite, but committed to Mike Woodson at Indiana after a short recruitment.
In 23 games as a freshman, Tucker averaged 5.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. He struggled with his outside shooting last year, but demonstrated clear athleticism and playmaking ability in the midrange.
He set his career-high in scoring with 16 points in a win over Minnesota in January, going 6-10 from the field in 20 minutes of action. He last saw game action on February 14.
Tucker’s departure leaves Indiana men’s basketball with 0 scholarship players from last season.
Oumar Ballo, Trey Galloway, Anthony Leal, Langdon Hatton, and Luke Goode all exhausted eligibility, though Goode plans on petitioning for another year. Malik Reneau, Mackenzie Mgbako, Myles Rice, Kanaan Carlyle, Gabe Cupps, and Jakai Newton have all entered the portal.
