Ristic signed with the program in early July right before representing Serbia at the FIBA U20 European Championships. He averaged 13.8 points, 4.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting 38.6% from 3-point range with KK Dynamic in Serbia. Indiana head coach Darian DeVries praised his versatility, ballhandling and shooting in an official release.
DeVries also mentioned that he expected one of Indiana’s international signings, Ristic or Bosnian center Andrej Acimovic, to join the program prior to its foreign tour during a media availability this past week.
“We’ll get him acclimated as quickly as possible,” DeVries said. “If that means he gets the opportunity to play in Puerto Rico, great. If we can’t get him close enough there, the last thing we want to do is put him in a position where he’s just not ready.”
Indiana isn’t going to rush things. One way or another, Ristic is officially with the program and can begin acclimating.
