Indiana lands four-star Prince-Alexander Moody

June 28, 2025 by Zags Blog

By JAMES MADDEN

Indiana landed a commitment from four-star guard, Prince-Alexander Moody, he announced on Friday. Moody chose Darian DeVries’ squad over schools like Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.

He is a 6-foot-4, 180-pound combo guard currently attending Bishop McNamara High School in the greater Washington D.C. area. Moody has averaged 12.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals so far this summer, while playing for Team Takeover of the Nike EYBL.

Since his very first visit to Bloomington, Moody knew the Hoosiers and its program was a very special place.

“I learned about their history,” Moody said. “They had like a downtown and a north and south Bloomington. It’s all like a little village, and it’s such a basketball village. There’s probably 50,000 people in this place. And it’s crazy. The stadium is so big and the football stadium fits 54,000 people. The basketball fits 17,200. Like that’s crazy — imagine playing in that type of atmosphere. So I saw the gym and it was just crazy.”

Entering Indiana’s first season with Darian DeVries at the helm, the buzz around the country is palpable, with many fans believing he can bring the Hoosiers back to becoming a national powerhouse once again. Moody has learned a lot DeVries’ style of coaching and his identity as one of the sport’s rising and up and coming head coaches.

“He’s one of those new day coaches,” he said. “He builds the game around certain pieces and he really knows how to coach. The style of play is great. He lets you play with freedom. It’s like watching an NBA team basically. It’s really like watching an NBA team for real, if I’m being honest. I went to watch their practice and it was great. It was definitely good to watch that.”

In addition to Moody, Indiana has also heavily recruited his Team Takeover teammate, Jordan Smith Jr., a top-three recruit in the class of 2026, looking to land two of Washington D.C.’s very best players.

Moody is ranked the No. 104 overall prospect in the 2026 class by On3 and is Indiana’s first commit in the class of 2026.
