MacFarlane, who plays for Lakota East High School in Middletown, Ohio, is the program’s 11th commitment and the first at tight end in the class of 2026. A 3-star, he’s the 50th highest-rated tight end and 40th highest rated overall prospect in Ohio, per the 247Sports composite. He has pretty good size for the position at 6-5 and has plenty of room to grow.
His tape speaks for itself. He’s a capable blocker and receiver with a knack for finding open space in a secondary. If his quarterback finds himself in trouble, MacFarlane has the awareness to get open as a safety valve for some easy yards.
He already had a prominent role for Lakota East as a junior, so he’ll be one to keep an eye on this upcoming season.
