Indiana picked up its 11th verbal commit of the 2021 class in Georgia defensive back Jordan Grier.
Grier, a 6-foot, 180-pound prospect from Ellenwood, had offers from programs like Kansas State, Memphis, and Pittsburgh, among others. The recruiting site Rivals ranks him as a three-star cornerback, while 247Sports lists him as a safety but does not give him a star ranking.
Whatever the case may be, Grier is another piece added to the secondary in 2021. IU already holds a commitment from three-star Florida safety Aubrey Burks. Larry Smith, also from Florida, has played safety but should line up at corner at IU.
Grier was an impact player for Cedar Grove in 2019, racking up four touchdown returns on defense. He also had 56 tackles and was a physical presence at safety for a squad that finished 13-2 and won a state championship.
