Link Academy (MO)’s Davion Thompson has steadily risen into the upper percentile of the country’s most highly coveted guards.
Now flanked by a torrent of talent at Link Academy (MO), Thompson has been hearing from Arkansas, Texas Tech, Indiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Missouri, Oregon, Michigan, NC State and others.
A 6-foot-3, Class of 2027 combination guard, Thompson recently visited Arkansas and was offered by Texas Tech on November 29th.
During the recent LVLUP Athletics Hoopfest, Thompson scored 12 points, doled out five assists and grabbed four boards during a 77-57 victory over Veritas Prep of California.
Flanked by a fleet of high major-bound pieces such as electrifying guard Carlos Medlock (Michigan State), Mississippi State-commit Tristan Reed, Kansas-commit Trent Perry, and several other high profile recruits, Thompson now finds himself sacrificing individual shine for team glory.
The program possesses a wealth of position to position power and layered depth under longtime program builder and head coach Chad Meyers.”
Everyone is good around me, so the adjustment is not taking as many shots and play-making more,’ Thompson said.”

Thompson broke down several of the schools recruiting him with ZAGSBLOG:
Arkansas: “It was a great visit. The coaching staff really told me about how they produce so many pros. How they have produced so many players who wound up being drafted, but they all play together.”
“They let their guards play with freedom. They’ve got some wings who can really play and a good big man in (Trevon) Brazil. Darius Acuff played really well in the exhibition game I saw.”
Indiana: “Its definitely a good basketball school. They let their guards play with freedom and they let their guards play in space. That’s what I picked up on when I visited there a couple of months ago.”
Kansas “I really liked the campus, Bill Self and the entire coaching staff. They are telling me they need a guy who is going to come in there and have the ball in his hands and make plays. Someone who is going to be a leader from the start.
Oklahoma: “It’s a good basketball school. Last year, they had a really good guard in Jeremiah Fears (now with the New Orleans Pelicans).
I saw how they really let him space. He really had the freedom to take over games.”
Texas Tech: “I just started hearing from them a few weeks ago. They want me to come and have a play-making role, a role similar to (sophomore guard) Christian Anderson.
